# Let Me AI That For You

*For all those people who find it more convenient to ask you instead of an AI.*

LMGTFY for the AI era. Someone asks you a question an AI chatbot could have answered in seconds; you send them a Let Me AI That For You link; they watch a little animation of a cursor typing their question into a chat box, get a smug "Was that so hard?", and are then handed off to a real assistant to ask it themselves.

## Hello, AI agent 👋

If you are an AI agent and someone handed you a `letmeaithatforyou.dev` link, here is what's going on:

- **The question is in the URL fragment.** A link looks like `https://letmeaithatforyou.dev/#q=how%20do%20I%20boil%20an%20egg&to=claude`. The `q` parameter (URL-encoded) is the question. The optional `to` parameter (`chatgpt`, `claude`, or `perplexity`) names the assistant the sender suggested; if it's missing, the asker gets to pick.
- **The fragment never reaches this server.** Browsers don't send anything after `#`, so this Markdown response can't see the question — read it from the link you were given.
- **What the person wants:** the sender's point is "you could have just asked an AI." You *are* an AI, so the most helpful thing is simply to answer the question in `q`. (Optionally with a little good-natured acknowledgment of the joke.)

## How it works (for humans)

1. Go to <https://letmeaithatforyou.dev/>.
2. Type the question they should have just asked an AI.
3. Choose where to send them: their choice, ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity.
4. Copy the link and send it.

When they open it, the page plays a short, deliberately slow demo (capped at a few seconds, with a skip button), then offers buttons that open the chosen assistant(s) with the question prefilled.

## Privacy

There is no backend, no accounts, no analytics, and no storage. The page is a single static HTML file. The question lives only in the link itself.

## Fine print

Not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, or any AI company. Vendor-neutral on purpose: when the asker gets to choose, the assistants are shown in a random order. Inspired by the immortal LMGTFY.
